Alex Wharton

Alex Wharton is actively involved in helping clients and suppliers to address the government’s best practice agenda.  He is presently engaged in the delivery of the North West Construction Knowledge Hub, a £6m, three-year project to support improvements in the economic, social and environmental performance of SMEs in the Northwest’s built environment sector; and is regularly deployed on framework-related projects, including framework reviews and supplier workshops.  An economist by profession, Alex has many years experience of teaching and researching microeconomics, macroeconomics, investment analysis and business finance at various universities, and has over 10 years experience of working with the construction industry.  Before joining the Centre for Construction Innovation, Alex worked for the Construction Knowledge Exchange and the Construction Innovation Network at the University of Salford.
