Description

Speaker:
James Wood, Manchester Airport and Paul Hancock, Costain

The existing approach and runway lighting system in Manchester Airport’s principal runway (05L/23R) was over 30 years old and had reached the end of its design life. In order to ensure the continued safe and efficient operation from R1 for the next 25+ years, Manchester Airport determined that the existing system needed to be completely replaced.

James has spent most of his career working in the highways sector. He joined Manchester Airport as Head of External Engineering in September 2008. James is responsible for the strategic and operational management and maintenance of all the airside and landside assets. Paul has over 10 years civil contracting experience with Costain with over 5 years spent within the airport sector. He is currently Project Manager for Costain on the R1 Refurbishment project.

Meetings begin at 18:30 preceded by complimentary refreshments at 17:45
