Description
The theme for the conference is "Building health and safety resilience in the current climate".
This will be the 37th National Safety Symposium. Once again, this residential conference will provide:
- key public sector health and safety updates
- interactive sessions to get involved with
- best practice examples to learn from
- excellent networking opportunities.
Who should attend?
While the conference is traditionally associated with local authorities and public service bodies, it's now aimed at anyone with occupational health and safety responsibilities and interests from the public service, healthcare, education or environmental and waste management sectors.

Call for papers
The National Safety Symposium is looking for speakers and has now launched a call for papers.
Suggested topics include:
- maintaining health and safety standards on a tight budget
- procurement
- health and safety in the challenging workplace
- health and wellbeing
- the ageing workforce
- future issues facing the industry
If you've got a successful project or initiative on any of these or similar topics - perhaps a case study, legal update or an example of best practice in your industry - then we'd like to hear from you.
For your presentation to be considered it must reach us by Friday 27 January 2012. Please send us a one-page summary of your presentation that includes key messages and learning outcomes, as well as your full contact details and a short biography.
Additional information to support your paper can include your delivery techniques or presentation experience.
