Description
The most established, and most commonly used standard form of contract in the UK, is the JCT suite of contracts. As such, the construction industry is familiar with the provisions that are typically contained in the different JCT forms. However, the NEC 3 form of contract is rapidly gaining popularity, and this is especially so for public sector clients. The course will provide a useful comparison of how each contract deals with essential provisions, thus assisting the transition from JCT to NEC 3. The course will provide a comparison on the following provisions:
• Contract documents • Notices and communications • Dealing with risk
• Contractor’s obligation to provide the works • Time and the programme • Liquidated damages
• Design obligations and liabilities • Payment • Instructions and variations • Insurances
